Terms of Service

These terms are a binding agreement between you and CompSniper. By creating an account or using our API, you agree to them. Please read them carefully.

Last updated August 15, 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing compsniper.com, creating an account, or making requests to https://api.compsniper.com, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you are using CompSniper on behalf of a company, you represent that you have the authority to bind that company to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

CompSniper provides a REST API that returns completed eBay sale data for a keyword or category across supported eBay marketplaces. The service is delivered as clean JSON over a versioned endpoint. We may add, change, or remove features over time, and we will use the versioned API path to avoid breaking existing integrations without notice.

3. Accounts and API keys

You need an account and an API key to use the service. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your key.

  • Keep your API key secret. Treat it like a password and never commit it to public repositories or ship it in client-side code.
  • You are responsible for all usage and charges incurred under your key, including usage by anyone you share it with.
  • If your key is lost or compromised, rotate it from your dashboard and contact us right away.
  • You must provide accurate account information and keep it current.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use CompSniper to:

  • Break the law or infringe the rights of others, including intellectual property and privacy rights.
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, quotas, authentication, or billing, or to share a single key across separate businesses to avoid paying for usage.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems, or interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service.
  • Resell or redistribute raw API access as if it were your own competing data API without a written agreement with us.
  • Use the service to build a product that is illegal, deceptive, or harmful.

We may suspend or terminate keys that we reasonably believe are engaged in abuse, without notice where necessary to protect the service.

5. Rate limits and quotas

Each plan includes a monthly number of requests and a per-minute rate limit. One request equals one keyword search and returns up to 240 sold listings, so you pay per search and not per result. When you exceed your monthly quota, further requests are blocked until your billing cycle resets. When you exceed your per-minute rate, requests return a rate-limit response and can be retried shortly after. Current limits for each plan are shown on our pricing page.

6. Commercial use

Commercial use is permitted on every plan, including the free plan. You may build the service into a paid SaaS product, an internal business tool, a client deliverable, or a mobile app. You pay for the requests you make, and what you build on top of the data is yours. You may not, however, repackage our raw API as a competing data API as described in the acceptable use section above.

7. Data and third-party sources

The data returned by CompSniper is sourced from publicly available eBay listings and completed sales. Please keep the following in mind.

  • We provide the data on an as-is basis and make no warranty as to its accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for a particular purpose. eBay data changes constantly and may contain errors from the source.
  • Sold prices on Best Offer sales are reported by eBay as an upper bound, because eBay does not disclose the accepted offer amount.
  • You are responsible for how you interpret and use the data, including any pricing, purchasing, or business decisions you make with it.
  • Third-party marketplace terms, structure, and availability are outside our control and may change at any time.

8. Not affiliated with eBay

CompSniper is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected to eBay Inc. “eBay” and related marks are the property of their respective owners and are used here only to describe the data we provide.

9. Billing and refunds

  • Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis through Stripe. Prices are shown in US dollars unless stated otherwise.
  • Your subscription renews automatically each cycle until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Because access is granted immediately, fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law. If you were billed in error or something went wrong on our end, contact us and we will make it right.
  • We may change our prices. If we do, we will give you advance notice, and the new price will apply to your next billing cycle.

10. No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any data will be accurate or complete.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CompSniper and its officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business, arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.

12. Termination

You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if your usage threatens the service or other users, or if required by law. On termination, your right to use the service ends immediately and any outstanding fees become due. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, such as data disclaimers, no warranty, and limitation of liability, will continue to apply.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which CompSniper is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction. (Specific governing law and venue to be finalized: placeholder pending incorporation details.)

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continuing to use CompSniper after an update means you accept the revised terms.
