Privacy Policy

CompSniper (compsniper.com) provides a developer API for eBay sold-listing data. In this policy, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to CompSniper, and “you” refers to anyone who visits our website or uses our API. If you have questions, contact us at support@compsniper.com.

We collect only what we need to run the service and bill it fairly.

• Account details. When you create an account we store your email address and a securely hashed password. That is the minimum needed to give you a login and an API key.
• API usage. For each request we log the API key used, the timestamp, the endpoint, the query parameters (such as keyword and marketplace), the response status, and counts for rate-limiting and quota metering. This is how we show your usage dashboard and enforce plan limits.
• Payment information. Paid plans are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and stores your card details directly. We never see or store your full card number. We keep a Stripe customer identifier, your plan, and your billing status so we can manage your subscription.
• Technical data. Like most sites, we record standard server logs such as IP address, browser user agent, and referring page for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.
• Support messages. If you email us or submit a contact form, we keep the message and your contact details so we can reply and follow up.

• Provide, operate, and maintain the API and your account.
• Authenticate requests, meter usage, and enforce rate limits and quotas.
• Process payments, manage subscriptions, and send billing receipts.
• Send essential service messages such as quota warnings, security notices, and account or billing updates.
• Monitor for abuse, fraud, and security threats, and to debug problems.
• Understand aggregate usage so we can improve the product.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your API queries to build advertising profiles.

We use a small number of first-party cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work, mainly to keep you signed in and to protect against cross-site request forgery. We do not run third-party advertising cookies. If we ever add optional analytics, we will update this policy first and give you a clear choice.

We share data only with the service providers that help us run CompSniper, and only to the extent they need it.

• Stripe for payment processing and subscription management. Stripe acts as its own controller for card data under its privacy policy.
• Our hosting and infrastructure providers for running the website, API, and databases.
• Email delivery providers for transactional messages such as verification and billing emails.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of our users and the public.

We keep account information for as long as your account is active. API usage and request logs are retained for a rolling window sufficient to power your dashboard, support billing disputes, and investigate abuse, then aggregated or deleted. Billing records are kept as long as required for tax and accounting purposes. If you close your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it to meet legal obligations.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, hashed API keys, and access controls that limit who on our team can reach production systems. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update your email and password from your dashboard at any time. To make any other request, email support@compsniper.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. We will never charge you for exercising your rights, and we will not discriminate against you for doing so.

CompSniper is a developer tool intended for businesses and adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

We operate from North America, and your information may be processed in the United States, Canada, or other countries where our providers operate. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from those where you live. By using CompSniper, you consent to this processing.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continuing to use CompSniper after an update means you accept the revised policy.
